Where does running take you next?

This is a great location for a run, and indeed, a marathon distance, if that is what you are looking for! Portumna is a quaint little town with a magnificent 450 hectacres of Woodland and you will spot also some wildlife on your run if you can be bothered to slow down the pace a bit! It really is a special run for long-distance runners from all over the country, and indeed now the world it seems. Taking part is surreal, it is quite a spiritual experience and tests you physically but in equal measures, it is peaceful and calm and soothes a racing mind! It is a naturally beautiful environment and everyone seems to be immersed in the atmosphere and environment, with a lot of clapping and encouragement along the way. There is a serenity about the place that bows down to the beauty of the natural environment. It is also very accessible too, whilst Portumna is a rural location, it is very accessible from all four corners of the country! I will return!
